There are currently more people in slavery globally than at any other point in our history, so the work that Child Rescue Nepal do is desperately needed. They are on the ground as your read this, saving children from slave labour in factories, restaurants, hotels and even construction sites where they are held captive. Child Rescue Nepal take all the saved children to their safe house and provide them with, all the medical care, food and counselling that they need. Once the children are safe the next step is attempting to reunite them with their families and also providing ongoing support where necessary.So far Child Rescue Nepal have rescued 700 children and reunited the majority of those children with their families. They have also prevented 40,000 children from being trafficked through their education programmes. There is always more to do and thousands of children that need help so your support is desperately needed.
Hackney Winter Night Shelter provides homeless guests with a hot meal and a warm bed. These people would otherwise be out on the streets during the wet and cold winter months.
Their vision is to provide homeless people with a route out of homelessness for the residents of Hackney. They also offer this professional and holistic support to help their guests rebuild their lives. They need support from the public in order to do this.
The St Vincent de Paul Society (or as it is often known – the SVP) is an international Christian voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing practical assistance to those in need – irrespective of ideology, faith, ethnicity, age or gender. The Society is a lay organisation initially formed in Paris in 1833 by Blessed Frédéric Ozanam and his companions, and active in England & Wales since 1844. Placed under the Patronage of St Vincent de Paul, it is inspired by his thinking and works. It seeks, in the spirit of justice and charity, to help those who are suffering poverty in whatever form.
