MyHome professional home cleaners are trained to follow a very unique cleaning system, which is designed to give excellent results consistently over a long period.

In association with Unilever, MyHome carried out extensive time and motion research studies to find the most effective way of cleaning a home. This research ultimately culminated in what we now call the Tri-Zonal™ System.

Each home is divided into 3 different coloured zones.

Red for Bathrooms and WC’s
Green for Kitchens and Utilities
Blue for Living and Bedrooms.

Each zone has a distinct number of steps to be followed along with using that zone’s corresponding products and coloured cloths to ensure hygiene, efficiency and consistency.

What is expected of a cleaner?

The standard inclusions for a regular cleaning service include mopping floors, making beds, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, vacuuming different areas within the house, and dusting all surfaces.

Do house cleaners need insurance?

Do House Cleaners need insurance? Yes, house cleaners need to be insured. Most clients will insist that you hold a Public Liability policy before agreeing to work with you, to protect their own property from any damage you might accidentally create.

How are cleaners vetted?

We interview cleaners in person and check their documents to confirm they have the right to work in the UK. We also check their proof of address and references. Each cleaner has taken our test. Cleaners go through induction with one of our supervisors or in the homes of our management team.

Can I give the cleaner the key?

Yes. All our cleaners have been vetted and can hold keys. There is a key receipt form in the information pack which we will send you and you can ask the cleaner to sign it and it is for you to keep.

Is the cleaner flexible about tasks to be done?

Yes. The cleaner can do any reasonable cleaning-related domestic task. Cleaners cannot use a stepladder, hand wash or lift anything heavy. We are not able to do any work outside your premises, such as external windows, gardens or patios.

Do I need to provide any cleaning equipment or products?

No – our cleaning teams arrive fully equipped with all necessary products and tools, including our colour-coded materials and Tri-Zonal Cleaning System to ensure a safe, hygienic clean.

Can I book a one-off cleaning service without committing to a regular schedule?

Absolutely. We offer flexible one-off cleaning services, including deep cleans, post-party refreshes, and end of tenancy cleans – all with no ongoing commitment required.

Are your cleaning products safe for children and pets?

Yes – we use environmentally conscious and non-toxic cleaning products that are safe for use in homes with children and pets.

How long will the cleaning take?

The time required depends on the size of your home and the type of cleaning service you’ve booked. Our team will provide a time estimate during the initial consultation or when you book.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

Not at all. Many of our clients provide a key or access instructions. Rest assured, all our cleaners are thoroughly vetted, and we follow strict security protocols for key handling and property access.
